| Scott McCurry Releases New Album at Dallas' House of Blues Scott McCurry & The Mercenaries have been in the studio putting the finishing touches on McCurry's latest release of, "Go On & Do Your Thing." The album is already being talked about as a commercially viable hit. Hardbeat Magazine says, "The Scott McCurry Band is comprised of so much genre-bending talent, it's a feast for the ears." McCurry's music from his previous releases of "Birdies don't bark" and "Like the Sun", has already been featured in tv, film and radio. On his third album, Scott McCurry cranks out compelling, addictive indie-pop music like the Federal Reserve cranks out cash. His highly anticipated release is a mix of 60's rock and R&B, as well as contempary eclectic folk and indie pop. The catchy, blended sound is unique with a familiar chord. Because of his unique sound, McCurry was named one of Clear Channel's most promising, "Artists to Watch" in 2008. On top of that, he's been riding the wave of success from playing at venues like the Sundance Film Festival and SXSW. Scott's upcoming performance will be an audible delight. The March 14th show begins in the Pontiac room of the Dallas House of Blues at 8:00PM. Opening for the show is The Phuss. At his last HOB performance, McCurry opened for Sting's son and his band, "Fiction Plane" to a sold-out audience. "I'm really excited about this event." McCurry said. "This is the best blend of music we've produced to date and I can't wait to play it live." write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Jazz News :: home page |
