Jazz Vocalist Receives International Adulation

Kemba Cofield, one of Atlanta's most renowned jazz vocalists, is preparing to set sail in February where she will headline a concert series at the Grand Hyatt Santiago's Duke's Bar in Chilé. Invited by Lotus Road Entertainment, an international talent agency, Kemba gives all thanks to her MySpace page that provides a link to her website, www.kembacofield.com, performance footage, background information, concert dates and original music.

"I was very surprised and honored that they contacted me, " said Cofield. "This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I wouldn't pass it up for anything." She will join the Duke's Bar's popular in-house band to perform some of her favorite and original hit music. Duke's Bar is one of Chilé's finest jazz venues that features an "English ambiance" that matches perfectly with great jazz, friends and fun.

2008 was a big year for Cofield as she made her first appearance on the stage of the great Lincoln Center in New York City and headlined Atlanta's 2008 Jazz Festival. She also carried the "2008-2009 Future of Jazz Straight Ahead Vocalist" title home and starred in the internationally known stage play, "Eternity, " in south Atlanta. The momentum is continuing in 2009 highlighted by Cofield's recent opportunity to perform with jazz great Wynton Marsalis during the last set of her show in Atlanta.

The illustrious jazz soloist's first project, Shades of Kemba, was independently released under KemCo Music Inc. in 2005. Shades of Kemba received rave reviews. Also released under KemCo Music Inc., was her sophomore album, Kemba Cofield Live in Atlanta, in 2007. Kemba Cofield Live in Atlanta is a compilation disc of live shows, featuring music from the neo-soul, classical and spiritual genres.
