| Richard Collins Has a New Charity CD Available March 1, 2009 Long time performer, Richard Collins, has released a charity recording that was compiled over the past 10 years of playing on NW 23rd Avenue in Portland, Oregon with his trio on Friday nights. It is very inexpensive ($6.75), and proceeds all go to help the New Orleans Musicians Relief Fund Rich Collins & The 23rd Trio: "On Fire" is available online at his web site and other e-stores. Collins is considering cancelling his upcoming Memorial Day Beverly Hills Tour due to what he describes as, " There's more culture on the back side of the Moon, than there is in Beverly Hills." This new CD is his first release specifically designed as a charity supporting re-issue. Collins was active in the New Orleans music scene, 1964-1974. There he performed with Babe Stovall, Bukka White, Lightnin Hopkins, Furry Lewis, and many others. He has performed all over the world and makes Portland, Oregon his hometown. In Portland he has performed with Fritz Richmond, Paul deLay, and opened for Keb Mo, and many others.
