Bulgarian Music Icon To Be Guest Of The Cairo Jazz Festival

Cairo Jazz festival will be presenting this edition one of Europe's famous Jazz bands. Theodosii Spassov from Bulgaria is Known to be a World famous artists playing the kaval (A wood flute) which is considered One of the Oldest instruments in Europe. Spassov was awarded many prestigious prizes; he has over 20 albums and has performed in over 1000 festivals and events World wide.

Spassov will perform at the festival this year with his latest formation (The World Groove); he'll be show casing his latest release "VIARA" which translates as FAITH. Spassov is considered a National icon in Bulgaria. He has developed his own unique style of playing the instrument by synthesizing traditional folklore with jazz, fusion and classical music. The concert of Theodosii Spassov will be Saturday 14th March at the River Hall – Sawy Cultural Center. Spassov will also be a guest of Honor along with the Egyptian Band "EFTEKASAT" in the closing act of the festival.

Cairo Jazz festival will take place from 12-15 March 2009 at SAWY Cultural Center. Organized by AGWA Productions and sponsored by, SAWY Center, Modern Touch, The Jazz Society of Egypt, Virgin Mega stores and The German Embassy.
