Nightly lecture is free and open for ticketholders in the Irene Diamond Education Center at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, 7 p.m. "I'm really looking forward to my collaboration with Take 6 in honoring two of the most important figures in Jazz - Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Our combined backgrounds in Gospel and Blues should make our exploration of the music very interesting. We want to go to the deepest places in their music and capture some of the spirit, beauty and emotion in a fresh way. So many people today feel disillusioned, afraid and uncertain about their future. We want people to come away from these performances feeling hopeful, uplifted, renewed and perhaps inspired, " says Mulgrew Miller music director for the event. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Jazz News :: home page |
