Spirit's California Redux Out Now On Audio Fidelity

California Blues Redux revisits the 1996 California project from Spirit, the rock band of deceased leader Randy California. The reissue program of Audio Fidelity gives the album a complete rework by Spirit member Mick Skidmore.

The set features 2 discs and 28 tracks, one with remastered versions of the tracks from the original source tapes and the second disc derived from shows in 1995 and 1996. The live tracks focus on the Spirit blues material and highlights of Randy's improvisational skills with some extensive exploratory jams, such as the 18 minute version of "Love from Here" and the 16 minute medley of "Fixing to Die, Gopal and Land of the Rising Sun".

Audio Fidelity CEO Marshall Blonstein commented, "All the tracks used for this new version are superior remixes or alternate takes, and all have been remastered and these two discs highlight the fact that Randy was at the top of his game in 1996 writing great material and making great music."

The extensive liner notes provided by Mick Skidmore add plenty of color and interesting details of the original sessions. His comprehensive process in bringing this track-by-track version to life becomes a reality with California Blues Redux.

California Blues Redux will please long time Spirit fans and undoubtedly bring in new fans of the band. Audio Fidelity is excited about the new release and the opportunity to gain more interest in one of the most fascinating and entertaining rock bands of our time.
