Ricky Skaggs Joins The Raconteurs

3-time Grammy winner Ricky Skaggs recently headed into the studio with The Raconteurs and rising country star Ashley Monroe to re-record the bands new single "Old Enough, " resulting in a stunning bluegrass inspired version of the track.

Raconteur Patrick Keeler explains, "We wanted to show a different side of the band and work with a few local artists we highly respect. Ricky is a legend, plain and simple, and one of the best players around."

Photographer and videographer Autumn de Wilde was on hand to capture the recording for a video that will premiere at music.yahoo.com on December 2, 2008.

"Old Enough" will be released digitally exclusively through Amazon.com on December 2, 2008. The song will hit all other digital retailers on December 9, 2008, where it will also be released physically as a CD single. Lastly, it will see its 7" vinyl release on December 16, 2008.

2008 has been yet another banner year for Skaggs. After winning his 13th Grammy Award for 'Salt of the Earth' (Skaggs Family Records), his album with the Whites which the Washington Post called "an album fueled by spiritual themes, striking vocal harmonies and stellar musicianship, " Skaggs released two critically acclaimed albums, 'Honoring the Fathers of Bluegrass: Tribute to 1946 and 1947' (Skaggs Family Records) and 'The High Notes' (Cracker Barrel).

Billboard called 'Honoring the Fathers, ' Skaggs' tribute to Bill Monroe and the "Original Bluegrass Band, " "nothing short of brilliant, " while Country Weekly called 'The High Notes, ' a collection of his #1 Country hits reworked as bluegrass arrangements and available at Cracker Barrel locations throughout the US, "a fun, fresh romp through Ricky's back catalogue that offers a reminder about the continued vitality of the star himself."
