| The Detroit Blues Challenge Finals The five preliminary rounds are now complete for the 2008 Detroit Blues Challenge and the six finalists are prepared to do battle this Sunday, November 23, 2008. The five preliminary rounds leading up to the finals make the Detroit Blues Challenge one of the largest regional competitions of it type, anywhere. The Detroit Blues Society is proud to sponsor and host this prestigious series of competitions each and every year, for the past 6 years. All 6 finalists will be competing for two winners receiving the opportunity to represent Detroit at The Blues Foundation International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN on February 4-7, 2009. There will be one winner each in the Solo/Duo and Band categories. The travel expenses for the trip to Memphis will be provided to the winners by the Detroit Blues Society. All of the proceeds from the Finals goes to this fund. The winners will also each receive a superb prize package donated by Mannino Photography, Just Roots PR, No Cover Productions, Magic Bag, Callahan's, Bluesfest International, and the Canada South Blues Society.
