The Bee’s Knees Performing in Toronto on Nov. 15-16

Award-winning Talented Toronto trio The Bee's Knees bring their fresh, engaging blend of children's music to two free upcoming Toronto performances. The first show is Sat., Nov. 15 at the Indigo store in the Eaton Centre, 220 Yonge St. and the second is Sun., Nov. 16 at the Indigo Yonge & Eglinton store.

The Bees' Knees will perform songs from their newly-released CD, "We Share The Earth". Following the success of their Parents' Choice-award-winning and Independent Music Award-nominated debut album, "What's the Buzz?!", The Bee's Knees continue to deliver original tunes that engage and entertain as much as they educate!

With "We Share The Earth", the group expands their range of musical styles even further, incorporating Motown/Soul, Blues/Rock, Calypso, Pop, Boogie, Jazz and Reggae. From the environmentally-conscious title track and songs about instruments around the world to the pure fun of "Penguin Shuffle" and "Bumble Dance", the CD is sure to be a hit with children, parents, teachers, librarians and music lovers of all ages!

The Bee's Knees' songwriting talents have been recognized by the 2008 John Lennon Songwriting Competition, which named the group as one of the Top 3 Finalists in the Children's category. They have also received rave reviews for their music:

Andie Duncan (Lead vocals, keyboards, percussion and programming) is an accomplished musician whose 20 year career has included performances on the Lilith Fair stage as well as opening for a number of higher profile artists such as k.d. lang, Bruce Guthro, Paula Cole, Duncan Sheik and Joe Cocker. She has also toured with Jann Arden and Holly Cole.

Cyndi Duncan-Lumsden (Vocals, educational consultant, primary teacher) brings an educational component to the project. Since most of her career was spent teaching Kindergarten and Grade One students at inner-city schools, Cyndi knows the importance music and movement play in the classroom. Her musical experience includes professional background singing and collaborations with Andie on various musical projects.

Joe Gaitanis (Vocals, acoustic & electric guitars, mandolin, banjo and programming) has been playing guitar and performing in and around the Toronto music scene for the better part of 25 years. As a gifted player and songwriter, Joe has collaborated on a number of albums, including Andie Duncan's "Who You Are" and Ana Mulrooney's CD "Supermarket style".

We Share The Earth and What's the Buzz?! are marketed and distributed by The Children's Group, the leading presenter of storytelling and classical music CDs for children. The CDs are available in Canada and the United States by KOCH Entertainment Distribution.
