| Lake Street Dive plays 'Java Blend' show Nov. 14 The Boston-based acoustic quartet Lake Street Dive will perform live on Iowa Public Radio's performance series "Java Blend" from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, at the Java House in downtown Iowa City. The group first met and began playing together as students in the jazz studies department at Boston's New England Conservatory. Iowa City native and bassist Bridget Kearney was 2005 Grand Prize and Lennon Award recipient in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest.
