Spotlight 29 Casino Welcomes Mickey Thomas and Starship

Mickey Thomas is back! One of the most recognizable voices in the music industry is back with Starship, back on tour and is coming to the Coachella Valley in a classic rock concert for the ages! Mickey Thomas and Starship will appear November 1 at Spotlight 29 Casino with special guests Elvin Bishop and the Elvin Bishop Band.

Thomas has one of the most recognizable voices in music history, and his soaring vocals defined Starship in the 1980s and 1990s. Called "soulful" and "compelling, " his vocals have established Thomas as one of Rock Music's most recognizable stars.

Thomas first made his mark in 1976 as lead vocalist on the mega-hit "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" with The Elvin Bishop Band. In 1979, he joined the Jefferson Starship as lead vocalist. Fronted by their new voice, the band immediately flew to #1 with the single "Jane." The band soon renamed itself Starship and Thomas fronted a string of hits including "Find Your Way Back, " "Laying It On The Line, " "No Way Out, " "Sara, " "Stranger" and "We Built This City."

The band scored an Oscar nomination for the #1 hit "Nothing Gonna Stop Us Now" from the movie "Mannequin" and in 1987, Major League Baseball adopted their song "It's Not Over Till It's Over" as the league's theme song.
Elvin Bishop has played in some of rock and blues' most influential bands including The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, legendary because of its racially integrated members. Bishop would later go solo and record chart-setting tracks like "Travelin' Shoes, " "Sure Feels Good, " and, of course, his biggest hit, "Fooled Around and Fell in Love."
