| Jerry Douglas Added To Line-Up Of Country Music Hall Of Fame Dobro virtuoso Jerry Douglas has been added to the all-star line-up of performers at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's second annual All for the Hall New York benefit at the Nokia Theatre in Times Square on Wednesday, October 15. He joins musical performers including Larry Campbell, Rodney Crowell, Vince Gill, Emmylou Harris and Levon Helm. The benefit will be presented as an old-fashioned "guitar pull, " featuring songs, stories, unique musical collaborations and memories. Hosting the special evening will be Billy Bob Thornton and his band, the Boxmasters, who will kick off the evening with a full-band performance. Jerry Douglas is widely renowned as the finest resonator guitar player in contemporary acoustic music. Hailed as "Dobro's matchless contemporary master" by The New York Times, and an "irreplaceable instrumentalist" by The Wall Street Journal, he has received 12 Grammy Awards, 11 Musician of the Year awards from the Academy of Country Music, has appeared on more than 2000 albums, and is celebrating his 10-year anniversary as the featured soloist with Alison Krauss & Union Station. Three-time (and reigning) CMA Musician of the Year, Douglas just concluded a four-show stint as the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's 2008 Artist-in-Residence. He was a featured player on the Grammy Award-winning O Brother, Where Art Thou? soundtrack, which sold nearly 10 million copies, and has been credited with reviving and broadening interest in acoustic roots music. He has recorded with artists including Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton, Ray Charles, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Earl Scruggs, Paul Simon and James Taylor, among many others. Over a period of four decades, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum has amassed a country music collection generally considered the finest and most complete in the world.
