The September Concert:

What began as a grassroots effort in New York City on September 11th in 2002 has since grown into an event of global proportion. In 2007, the September Concert Foundation organized more than 200 concerts with more than 3, 400 performers. In addition to 119 concerts held in New York, 42 U.S cities hosted concerts, as did 39 international cities, such as Rome, Paris, Beijing, Tokyo, Johannesburg and Casablanca. Among this year's concerts are the Rockbrokers (stockbrokers by day) performing on Wall Street.

The Rockbrokers:

The Rockbrokers are a group of musicians who work at the NYSE as stockbrokers, clerks, supervisors and administrative personnel. The group formed in 2000 to raise money for specific children's charities. They have staged concerts every year since 2000 and have donated more than half a million dollars to date. In addition to playing several New York venues, the Rockbrokers have performed in Germany and Austria. The show on 9/11/08 will be their first performance at the New York Stock Exchange.

The members of the Band were working on the trading floor at 11 Wall Street on 9/11/01. Each lost friends in the events of September 11th and one Rockbroker lost a brother. Two members of the Rockbrokers who are American Soldiers with the New York Army National Guard deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom III from 2004 to 2005.
