Wayne Brady Joins List of the Rhythm & Blues Foundation Show

The multi-talented Wayne Brady adds his name to a prestigious list of co-hosts of the 20TH Anniversary of the Rhythm & Blues Foundation Pioneer Awards Show, which will take place September 9 at the Kimmel Center of The Performing Arts in Philadelphia. The 3-time Emmy Award-winning Brady, host of the Fox Television show "Don't Forget the Lyrics, " joins previously announced co-hosts Dionne Warwick, Bonnie Raitt and Jerry Butler. Brady won an Emmy for his improvisational work on "Whose Line Is It Anyway, " and later added two Emmys for "The Wayne Brady Show." Brady's debut CD titled A Long Time Coming is schedule for release in September.

The prestigious ceremony will feature past Pioneer Award honorees that will be on hand in celebration of the Rhythm & Blues Foundation's 20th anniversary. A partial list of confirmed attendees includes Betty Wright, the Delfonics, David Porter, Nona Hendryx, Sara Dash, Koko Taylor, Gary "U.S." Bonds, the Supremes' Mary Wilson, Brenda Holloway, Jimmy Scott, the Five Satins and many more.

"New School" stars such as Anthony Hamilton, Vivian Green, Kenny Lattimore, Kindred and others will pay their respects to this year's honorees in what promises be a magical and special evening.

To date, the Rhythm & Blues Foundation has honored over 150 R&B artists and songwriters in that genre.

2008 Pioneer Awards honorees are Chaka Khan, Teena Marie, Bill Withers, Kool and The Gang, Donny Hathaway, The Whispers, The Funk Brothers, Al Bell and Sugar Pie Desanto.
