Tanja Maritsa's Debut Release: 'Child in My Heart'

'Child in My Heart' is the debut release from singer/songwriter Tanja Maritsa . Tanja has a truly unusual and rare gift; through her music, she provides a healing touch that pervades listeners with a delicate blend of Jazz, Pop, and Folk. The album is a masterful mixture of romantic and surreal songs that soothe souls and mellow minds.

'Child in My Heart' contains fourteen 'musical miracles'; each with an almost heavenly ability to convey meaning amidst madness and bring calm over chaos. Truly seasoned professionals back Tanja's talented song-writing, profound lyrics and evocative vocals. There is meticulous production work by legendary arranger Richard Niles - who has also added his guitar skills on the project. The remarkable piano instrumentation of Gwil Simcock fuses seamlessly with Tanja's sultry vocals and Robert Rickenberg (double bass), Jo Caleb (guitar) and Gary O' Toole (drums) provide a perfectly placed performance palette for Tanja.

Tanja states: "My absolute passion for music is fuelled by giving and sharing something with other people. I chose songs I really love and have meaning to me in the hope that they would touch others."

There is melodic bliss within the multifaceted styles on the album. There are songs of dreams and philosophy such as 'Songbird', 'The Wing and the Wheel' and 'Smile'. However, there are also more heart wrenching and melancholic songs such as 'Memory Box' and 'Shadow of a Man', a romantic feel in tracks like 'La Vie en Rose' and enchanting songs like 'A Thousand Years' and the title track 'Child in My Heart'.

While Tanja has been mentioned in the same sentence as greats like Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald and reminiscent of Eva Cassidy and Joni Mitchell, she remains stylistically distinctive.

Tanja comments: "While these are artists who have influenced me, I want to be genuine in my music and to be myself."

'Child in My Heart' is a dazzling display of talent. It will immerse listeners in enchanting melodies and masterful piano playing with songs that soothe the soul and mellow the mind.
