| Sara Bareilles Announces Fall Headlining Tour Hot off the heels of the incredible success of her first ever headlining tour, songstress Sara Bareilles announces that she will head back out on the road this Fall for a second set of headlining dates in support of Little Voice, her Gold certified debut album for Epic Records featuring one of the biggest hit songs in the country, "Love Song" and its follow up single, "Bottle It Up." The tour will officially kick off on October 9th at Spreckels in San Diego, and will cover 20 major cities across America, wrapping on November 7th in Atlantic City, NJ. Sara is currently on the road for a string of dates throughout July and August with Maroon 5 and Counting Crows. Joining Sara on tour this fall will be singer/songwriter Marc Broussard the eclectic rock-folk band, Raining Jane. Since the release of her debut album, Little Voice, Sara Bareilles has emerged as one of the most interesting breakthrough artists of 2008. She stands in a class of her own on the pop charts with a blend of pop, soul and jazz that reveals an incredible vocal prowess. Spotlighted as an "On the Verge" artist by USA Today, Sara is as popular with the critics as she is with the fans. Rolling Stone wrote, "Whether banging away at the driving 'Love Song, ' turning slinky for 'Bottle It Up, ' or getting contemplative on the gently orchestrated 'City, ' Bareilles' writing voice is uniquely her own." Little Voice has skyrocketed up the charts, reaching the #1 spot on the iTunes album chart and maintaining a steady climb up the Billboard Top 200. Over 800k copies have been sold so far. Sara's first single, "Love Song" was an instant success, propelled in part by Sara's appearance in the commercial for the Rhapsody music service. It ascended into the Top 5 at iTunes and became the #1 song in America. Her follow up single, "Bottle It Up" has since followed suite and has quickly risen up the charts at both radio and video outlets. MTV recently featured Sara as their 'artist of the week' in their creative 52/52 campaigns whereby Sara performed songs from Little Voice within quirky skits showcasing her personality. write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Jazz News :: home page |
