| Sydney surf, Jazz and Viva the band at Manly Jazz Festival The 31th Manly International Jazz Festival 2008 will be held at Manly on the Northern Beaches of Sydney, Australia. The festival will be staged over the October long weekend on the 4th, 5th, 6th of October 2008. With a breathtaking ocean beachfront backdrop, The Manly International Jazz Festival is reputed as Sydney's premier Jazz venue. In excess of 30, 000 visitors per day are expected to attend the festival, there is ample family facilities and food and refreshment venues throughout the Corso at Manly. This year there will be a fantastic line up of jazz talent, some of these artists were part of the festival in its early days. Audiences will enjoy listening to a mix of jazz styles presented by local, interstate and overseas acts. In 2007 the following acts performed at the Manly International Jazz festival: Viva the duo, George Washingmachine, Geoff Bull, John Morrison Quartet, Dale Barlow, Tina Harrod, Carol Ralph Quintet, Ingrid James, Bob Montgomery (USA), Louisiana Shakers (VIC), Jeff Duff, Doug Williams, Kristin Berardi, Michelle Nicolle (VIC), Kevin Hunt Trio, E-Type Jazz (SA), Bruce Brown (USA) and Doug Parkinson. The new program of artists for the 2008 Manly International Jazz festival will be available from Manly Council in September 2008. Manly Council will also be presenting a taste of multicultural music during the festival, appearing for the 7th year at the festival is the ever popular Sydney Northern beaches band, Viva the duo.
