Big Mama Thornton Is Back

Barbara Morrison's legendary vocal abilities provide the perfect talent to recreate the life, music and magic of Willie Mae "Big Mama" Thornton the celebrated 1940s blues songstress who wrote Janis Joplin's hit "Ball and Chain" and introduced Elvis Presley to the Song "Ain't Nothin' but a Hound Dog". Barbara Morrison is an American singer of jazz music and has been featured on over 20 recordings. Over the years she has performed with a virtual "who's who" of the Jazz and the Blues worlds. That list includes legends like; Dizzy Gillespie, Ray Charles, Mel Tormé and Tony Bennett. Ms. Morrison has also guest stared with the Count Basie Orchestra and performs at the more renown Blues and Jazz Festivals around the world.
