Alejandro Escovedo Tour/Album

Alejandro Escovedo will be touring behind the release of his ninth studio album, Real Animal, throughout the summer. He will be joining the Dave Matthews Band for six dates in June, followed by headlining shows across the States and Canada through July. Appearances on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on June 20, The Today Show on June 24 and The Late Show with David Letterman on August 7 are also scheduled.

Real Animal, featuring 13 original songs produced by Tony Visconti (T Rex, David Bowie, Thin Lizzy), will be released on June 24 via Manhattan/Back Porch. “The inspiration for this record really is my life in music and the characters that I've known in and throughout that life. It's also about how music helped me survive that life," says Escovedo.

Escovedo has been writing music and performing for over 30 years. His career started in The Nuns, a San Francisco punk band that opened the last original Sex Pistols show at the Winterland in 1978. He was a founding member of cow-punks Rank And File and has released several critically acclaimed solo albums over the last fifteen years.
