| Nina Simone Film Paramount Pictures and MTV Films are working on a film about vocalist/pianist Nina Simone. Known for her dynamic live performances and moving ballads, came to prominence with the song "Porgy" 1959. Also performed a the original Playboy Jazz Festival that same year. In her career she included Folk, Gospel, and popular mateial. Later "I Put A Spell On You", "To Be Young Gifted And Black" were to of her signature songs. Hip Hop star Mary J. Blige is to portray Simone, Interscope records Jimmy Iovine along with Gene Kirkwood, Lauren Lloyd, and Paul Rosenberg(Eminem's manager) are producing the project. Simone died in 2003 The screenplay is being written by American television writer Cynthia Mort of hit shows "Roseanne" and "Will and "Grace". R.
