| A Great Night in Harlem A Great Night in Harlem: Thursday, May 29th at the Apollo Theater will commemorate the Jazz Foundation of America's eighteen years of providing emergency assistance and long-term support to the nation's jazz and blues musicians. Since Katrina alone, they have assisted over 3500 emergency cases and have employed over 1000 musicians from New York to New Orleans. Please join: Bill Cosby, Danny Glover, Randy Weston, Frank Foster and his Loud Minority Big Band, Jimmy Heath, Phil Woods, Sweet Georgia Brown, Nnenna Freelon sings Billie Holiday, Gary Brown: From Joe Cocker's Band, Leon Hendrix ( Jimi Hendrix's brother on electric guitar!), Frank Wess, Cecil Bridgewater, The “Ma Rainey" of New Orleans' Blues Queens: Thais Clark with Dr. Michael White's Original Liberty Jazz Band, Buster Williams celebrate Hank Jones' 90th Birthday with special appearances by Norah Jones and Dave Brubeck plus over 30 more legends on the Apollo stage... Elvis Costello said “This is one of the greatest concerts I've been to in 20 years" After all, they made us rich with their music all these years. This year we have had so many musician emergencies- we need you more than ever. Please support the life saving work of the Jazz Foundation. They need you.
