The Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre Presents Gene Dinovi

On Friday, May 23, 2008 the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre brings together three of Canada's most distinguished musicians for the world premiere of "The Japanese Suite" a specially written collection by Gene DiNovi inspired by his experiences in Japan.
The evening features Gene DiNovi, Canadian/American, pianist/composer who is one of the great icons of American jazz. The trio features Gene with two exceptional Order of Canada-winning musicians James Campbell (clarinet) and Dave Young (bass).
Gene DiNovi's Japanese Suite is a special collection of original impressions of Japan through jazz and interpretations of traditional Japanese inspired melodies.
The concert, in honour of Asian Heritage Month and the official
anniversary of 80 years of Japan-Canada diplomatic relations, will also be
recorded live for CD release.
