Miki Howard is Back With Her Private Collection of Smooth Jazz

The singer of your favorites like "That's What Love Is" (Feat Gerald Levert), "Ain't Nuthin' In The World", "Love Under New Management", "Until You Come Back to Me (That's What I'm Gonna Do)", and "Ain't Nobody Like You" is excited to announce to her fans that she has been listening to their requests for new music, and decided to get back in the studio. Fans are going to be happy with the results:

The Grammy and American Music Award nominee has created a "Private Collection" of smooth jazz and soul sounds for both her long time fans, and for the music loving public. The songstress comes on strong with her first fully creative studio album in years. "Private Collection" gives you the best of both of the musical worlds that have made Miki an award-winning, platinum, multi-number one hit artist. With five original songs written and produced by Miki and the ultra talented Chucki Booker, and five standards produced by Miki and Brandon McCune, "Private Collection" will prove to be Miki's most versatile work to date.

The name "Private Collection" arose for its representation of Miki's favorite jazz ballads, as well as her very personal contributions to new cuts. Miki soars like an unstoppable phoenix from the very beginning, with the jazzy swing of the opening track "Crazee", through the lush feel of "Favorite Time of the Year", the down home blues vibe of "Beer for Breakfast", the Hip Hop swagger of the controversial "She", and wraps up the set of her personally co-written tracks with the R&B powerhouse "You Made Me Love You". For the remainder of the record, Miki escorts listeners through beautiful re-makes of her favorite Jazz standards, "Skylark", "Secret Love", "Days of Wine and Roses", "Guess Who" and "Counting My Blessings", where she rivals the best vocal performances ever of these great compositions.

"Private Collection is the kind of record that you live to, " says Miki. "You play it in the car, play it while you clean your house, play it at cocktail parties, that's the kind of record this is, it is my private collection. I'm sure that it will not disappoint my fans, old and new."

Miki's latest album is already causing a buzz, even before its release. "Private Collection" will continue to build on the unbelievably solid musical legacy that is Miki Howard. A legacy that crossed into the motion pictures world, with Miki's 1992 portrayal of Billie Holiday in Spike Lee's "Malcolm X", and later her featured role in John Singleton's "Poetic Justice" with pop icon Janet Jackson.

"Private Collection" is exclusively available at WWW.MIKI-HOWARD.COM, by MP3 download (for fan benefit, MP3 is DRM free) or by mail for the actual compact disc.
