Exalt Entertainment Group To Launch iGenJazz™

Exalt Entertainment Group premiering jazz and spoken word artists nationally. Today announced to hold an online dance contest on YouTube which they are revealing is the ultimate dance contest for iGeneration contestants. The dance contest will be launched in May of 2008 via their website iGenJazz.com and is targeted for contestants 9 - 25 years of age. The contest rules and regulations will be available on the website.
Contestants will compete by performing dance moves to the Winard Harper Sextet's original composition, The Children's Song. Winners will be selected in three different categories and there is no fee to enter the dance contest. Prizes will be awarded to first, second, and third place contestants. The contestants entering the dance contest could also be considered for feature acts during the band's live performance tours nationally.

According to Exalt Entertainment Group, the Internet generation also referred to as iGen has the networks to reinvent the way jazz music will be introduced to Internet audiences. The agency believes the contest will help to diversify jazz audiences and generate interest in the rebirth of jazz music among those previously unexposed.

"The concept of iGenJazz is the rebirth of jazz music as a timeless and universally appealing art form that transcends generation gaps, " stated Brenda Bradley, Exalt Entertainment Group Representative. "We plan to use a world flavored piece as an invitation to explore the various styles of our jazz artists. This contest will be fun to watch for all ages."

Celebrated Exalt Entertainment Group artists are New Orleans' native daughter, Courtney Bryan (Pianist / Composer / Bandleader) a finalist for the Beyonce Knowles All-Girl Band Birthday Tour. Columbia University's prestigious DMA Composition Faculty Fellowship recipient. Bryan's CD, entitled Quest for Freedom features famous trumpeter and mentor, Marcus Belgrave. Winard Harper, Drummer/ Composer /Bandleader / Educator, co-founder of the Harper Brothers and current leader of the Winard Harper Sextet. Harper's current release, Make it Happen, was a JazzWeek Top Ten. Harper's upcoming appearances include the Kennedy Center and Atlanta's High Museum. Theo Croker (Trumpeter / Composer / Bandleader), grandson of jazz trumpet legend Doc Cheatham. Croker's first album The Fundamentals, independently recorded in New York City, has drawn world-wide response. Theo's quintet is currently playing a premier jazz club in Shanghai, China. Sparrow O'Neal (Poet / Writer / Actor / Director), selected as a finalist and Detroit's host for Russell Simmons Def Poetry Jam tour. O'Neal's current release Musions remains a popular independent release of powerful personal and political commentary. Marcus Belgrave, (Trumpeter / Composer / Arranger / Educator / Recording Artist / Producer) known as a true Renaissance man; professor of music at Oberlin University, co-founder of Jazz Studies Program at The Detroit Metro Arts Complex, and the Jazz Development Workshop. Formerly a member of the Ray Charles band, Belgrave's recently self-produced and released You Don't Know Me celebrates Ray Charles, New Orleans and the Great Ladies of Song.
