Washington D.C.'s, Trio Caliente, is comprised of accomplished musicians, Deborah Benner (vocals), Michael Bard (instrumentalist/composer) and Amilcar Cruz (guitarist). The trio has managed to fuse the sounds of Latin Jazz, Gypsy Rumba, Bossa Nova and much more as well as produce songs in English, Spanish and Portuguese. Benner and Bard have been featured on several TV and radio shows (including NPR's "All Things Considered") and have been written up in the Washington Post and Jazz Times, as well as having toured extensively throughout South America, the Middle East, Spain and Portugal. Benner and Bard have also performed for dignitaries such as former President Bill Clinton, United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, as well as various members of royalty throughout the Middle East. As Trio Caliente (along with Cruz) they play every Thursday night from 8pm-11pm at Bambule located on 5225 Wisconsin ave. N.W. in Washington D.C. The trio looks forward to announcing more performances around the country.

Trio Caliente's eleven-track debut album, on ACM Records, Baila Me, takes listeners on a musical journey that can both energize and soothe as soon as the first notes are played. The album exudes the sounds of Latin Jazz, Bossa Nova, Gypsy Rumba and even Nuevo Flamenco. Jazzy piano and vocal arrangements combined with Latin melodies comprise the fresh and diverse sound that Trio Caliente is bringing to the world of contemporary jazz. Their lively, vibrant, Flamenco-inspired title track, introduces the band's unique sound. Benner's smoky, yet entrancing vocals float above the driving instrumental rhythm. Trio Caliente has managed to hold onto the vibrant essence of the Latin style, while preserving the emotion of vocal jazz. Trio Caliente is a dynamic band that is far above a simple musical classification.
