| A Benefit Concert for Norman Hedman Jazz Standard presents a very special star-studded benefit hosted by WBGO's Rob Crocker on Monday, April 14, 2008. The event honors adored master conguero and percussionist Norman Hedman. In January, Hedman began to rehearse with Alicia Keys for her upcoming world tour. It was during this time that he was diagnosed with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). Currently, Hedman is undergoing medical treatment. The event is a support effort to defray the considerable medical expenses in his battle against cancer. A silent auction will be held featuring items donated from Alicia Keys, Ty Law, NFL cornerback #24, and more. Join countless other jazz, soul, and R&B fans in support of Norman Hedman. Ron Carter, Joe Locke, Horacee Arnold, Ray Mantilla, Vic Juris, Kendra Shank, Frank Kimbrough, T.K. Blue, Queen Esther Marrow, Will Calhoun, Alex Blake, Andrienne Wilson, Cuba Gooding, Sr. and the Main Ingredient, Rene McLean, Dick Griffin, B.D.
