| Monthly Jazz Series at Former Home of Rostropovich The new owners of Chateau Safflyn, a historical mansion located in Mohawk NY, announced yesterday they will be hosting a series of live Jazz concerts to be every month throughout 2008. Jazz concerts will be performed the last Saturday of every month starting March 29th at 5:30pm in Chateau Safflyn, the former home of Rostropovich, 350 Galina Lane in Jordanville, NY. This month will be a celebration honoring the birthday of the Great Maestro Rostropovich. Tickets are $40 and include a light buffet. Wine and Spirits are available at a cash bar. Jazz at the Mansion will be a monthly series of featured performers from national locations. Additional dates may be added during the spring and summer months. Chateau Safflyn is a historical Estate like no other. Over a nearly 300-year period, the estate's ownership lineage reads like a who's who List in New York. The former estate of Henderson, Douglas, Curger, Robinson, Roosevelt, and Famous Russian Cellist and conductor of the US symphony orchestra Mstislav Rostropovich. The property was home to Former United States presidents James Monroe, Theodore Roosevelt and Franklin Roosevelt.
