First studio album in four years from Lenny Kravitz

It Is Time For a Love Revolution, the latest studio album from legendary artist, Lenny Kravitz, debuted at No. 4 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album chart, selling 73,000 copies in the U.S. The album debut represents a career highlight for Kravitz as it is the highest charting studio album of his career. Internationally, the album debuted at No. 1 in Japan, Argentina, and Switzerland, Top 5 in Canada, Germany, France, Austria, UAE, Holland, and Italy, and Top 10 in Belgium, Spain, and Hong Kong. These charts represent another career milestone for the star with many countries debuts surpassing his career bests.

The success of It Is Time For A Love Revolution, Kravitz’s eighth studio album and first since 2004, has undoubtedly been fueled by fan anticipation for what Rolling Stone called “the best album Lenny Kravitz has ever made — a visceral, expertly tailored blend of late-’60s and early-’70s classic rock…”. Featuring 14 new songs, It Is Time For A Love Revolution once again finds the multi-instrumentalist writing, producing, arranging, and playing all the tracks on the album, as he has on every release throughout his career. The first single I’ll Be Waiting, has already garnered substantial radio airplay in the US is currently residing at #7 on Billboard’s European airplay chart. The video (co-directed by Philip Andelman and Lenny) has been a staple of VH1 in the US and key video outlets worldwide.

The four time Grammy winner recently completed the Get On the Bus with the Love Revolution Tour, where contest winners got the opportunity to travel on a Kravitz-designed custom Love Revolution tour bus and become part of his entourage on the road, with full backstage access to the live concerts. Lenny launched his album campaign with a performance on the American Music Awards in late 2007 and appeared on Good Morning America, Live With Regis And Kelly and The Late Show With David Letterman the week of release.

In March, Kravitz will kick off a two-year worldwide tour behind It Is Time For A Love Revolution. Though illness forced the postponement of several European shows, Kravitz will return to Europe in late February to fulfill these commitments, including a show in Berlin on February 28th. The previously announced European tour dates that begin in May will happen as scheduled.
