KOCH Records to Release New Album by Jesse Cook

KOCH Records announces the release of "Frontiers, " the new album by world music guitar virtuoso Jesse Cook, on March 18th, 2008. Over the course of a dozen years and numerous best-selling albums, the skilled guitarist has explored the outer limits of popular music. In the past, Cook has blended African percussion, Cajun accordion, classical cello and pop vocals with his own rumba flamenco style to create a breathtaking, multi-textured global hybrid.

This latest release is complemented by collaborations with Egyptian-Canadian singer Maryem Tollar, Latin vocalist Amanda Martinex and Canadian songwriter Melissa McClelland. The album's 13 songs, among which is a brilliant interpretation of Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe, " explore more personal frontiers for Cook. Cook wrote "Frontiers" while awaiting the birth of his first child. That sense of anticipation translated into Cook's most personal album yet.

For Cook, "Frontiers" is a reflection of how music, like life, is rich in discovery and constantly evolving. "It's all about new ground, personally and artistically, " he says. "Rumba has come to be my house, it's where I live. But there's no limit to where you can take the music. The possibilities really are endless."

Cook will be headlining at the Dubai International Jazz Festival at the end of February. Immediately following, he will be kicking off a U.S. tour on March 7th, 2008.
