Rob Mullins Grammy Week Events

Jazz pianist, recording artist and educator Rob Mullins will have a busy week this week in Los Angeles. Mullins, a voting member of the Recording Academy will combine several invitation only Grammy events with his private lessons program along with a live Rob Mullins show leading up to the big event on Sunday February 10 2008-The 50th Annual Grammy Awards at Staples Center in Los Angeles. “I am happy to announce that in conjunction with the Grammy's Tributes to Jazz and Classical Music this week, I created the Planetmullins Awards-a way of rewarding outstanding achievers in my music school with an experience they can't get anywhere else-guest tickets to the invitation only Grammy Events." Rob said yesterday from his studio in Los Angeles.

Planetmullins Award winners were notified over the weekend and they will be attending the following events this week:

February 5 2008 Grammy Tribute to Classical Music starring Lang Lang and Earl Wild

February 5 2008 Grammy Tribute to Sonny Rollins and McCoy Tyner

February 6 2008 Grammy Foundation Sounds of Change Event starring Natasha Bedingfield, Jerry Lee Lewis, John Fogerty, and others.

“I feel this will be a great experience for my students to meet stars and hear music that could impact them in powerful ways. It will be a big week for all of us"-he added.

In addition, Rob Mullins Quartet will be performing a special tribute night to Sonny Rollins and McCoy Tyner at Steamers Jazz Club on February 8 at 8:30 p.m. Rob will be joined by Robert Kyle-sax, Adam Cohen-bass, and David Dirge-drums for this all star tribute event which will be Rob's first live appearance in the US since his return from his recent tour of Moscow Russia last month. Concluding the week will be the 50th Annual Grammy Awards February 10 2008 at 8 p.m. "As a voting member of the Academy, I encourage you to watch" said Rob.

The first Annual Planetmullins Awards will take place April 27 2008 at Pierre's Fine Pianos in Los Angeles as the kick off to the LA CD release party to Mullins' 17th solo album as a recording artist “Storyteller." “Escher's Etude" the first single from Mullins unreleased CD is already being played at KJAZZ 88.1 in Los Angeles and can be heard online as well.
