| McCoy Tyner Joins with Savion Glover Four-time Grammy award winning pianist and jazz legend, McCoy Tyner and his trio will partner with Tony-winning tap master Savion Glover on Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Rutgers-Camden Walter K. Gordon Theater located at 3rd & Pearl Street, Camden, NJ at the base of the Ben Franklin Bridge. A legendary member of John Coltrane's classic quartet, McCoy Tyner's blues-based piano style has become one of the most identifiable sounds in improvised music. And from his Broadway debut in The Tap Dance Kid at the age of 12 to his Tony-winning choreography for Bring in 'Da Noise, Bring in 'Da Funk, Savion Glover has established himself as the undisputed king of tap! This event was selected by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts as part of the American Masterpieces Series in New Jersey. American Masterpieces Rutgers-Camden Center for the Arts is South New Jersey's premier performing arts, visual arts and arts education institution and has been designated a “Major Arts Organization of New Jersey" by the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State. Located on the Camden waterfront, the RCCA's three main venues - the Walter K.
