| Adam Baron Releases New Age Music On Steroids Known for his rhythmic Jazz styling as drummer in the critically acclaimed Honolulu Jazz Quartet, Adam Baron announces the arrival of his debut album Pangaea under the artist name von Baron. The name von Baron pays homage to his German ancestry and establishes him with a distinctively different sound than many of us have come to know him. When asked why he chose New Age music as his expressive outlet Adam says, 'I have long had a passion to write music that brings our world closer together through tolerance and understanding and after 20 wonderful years in music, I felt it was time to pursue my dream.'spliter von Baron's music is described as New Age music on steroids and filled with lush harmonies, soaring melodies, and pulsating rhythms that speak from the heart in the universal language that we all understand, music. John Berger of the Honolulu Star Bulletin describes the mood of Pangaea as, 'energizing yet soothing - a seeming contradiction, but it's evident from the first song that he intends this music to be heard and appreciated rather than serve as ambient filler.' Sari Kent of the Celebrity Cafe states, 'Pangaea will transport listeners to a sphere they have never known before, where peace and tranquility reign supreme.' The title and concept of the album, Pangaea refers to the geologic theory that 250 million years ago, all of the Earth's continents we know today, were joined in the form of a giant super-continent forever connecting us to each other through space and time. It's through this connection and focusing on what we share in common as a people, that von Baron believes we can bring about a lasting world peace. One fan's comments sum up the purpose and impact of Pangaea, 'It puts me in a very happy, joyous place that enlightens, calms, and soothes me. I can relax and have peace of mind.' write your comments about the article :: © 2008 Jazz News :: home page |
