'Christmas With The Champion Sisters'

The Champion Sisters, the Houston-based trio widely acclaimed for their unique vocal mix of jazz, swing, rhythm and blues, folk and big band sounds, have released their second CD, 'Christmas with the Champion Sisters.'

The holiday compilation features 'Silver Bells, ' 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town, ' 'Mr. Santa, ' and 'Heart of Texas: The Texas Christmas Song.' The songs were selected to highlight the beautiful harmonies for which the group is known.

Arrangements by Houston jazz favorite Paul English make rhythmic and striking versions of Christmas favorites. In addition to world-class arranging, English also produced this new collection.

The two-year project started recording at SugarHill Studios in Houston with Andy Bradley. Bradley has more than 19 years of experience and has produced and engineered multiple Grammy nominated projects. Horns were recorded with Randy Miller at Houston-based Tierra Studios. Miller has more than a decade of successful album production experience, earning him four Grammys and 16 nominations. The final engineering and mixing was at Blue Rock Artist Ranch and Studio in Wimberley, Texas with the help of sound engineer Keith Gary, who has also worked with Coldplay and Simon and Garfunkel. To add to the star-studded lineup, Grammy-nominated composer Chris Maresh plays bass.

Blue Rock Studio owner and artist Billy Crockett, says the Champion Sisters bring 'artful surprise, brave tenderness and a shimmering joy, ' to the holiday season.
