Live Recordings By The Legendary Rhythm And Blues Revue

Delta Groove Music's chiefs Randy Chortkoff and Robert Fitzpartick are very proud to announce the upcoming release of a new live CD by the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Revue, featuring the Tommy Castro Band and an all-star line-up including Deanna Bogart, Magic Dick and Ronnie Baker Brooks all taking turns leading the band.

The Legendary Rhythm and Blues Revue was born when these amazing musicians, each headliners in their own right, were booked to play together by Roger Naber to headline The Legendary Rhythm and Blues Cruise (the premier Blues event which attracts nearly 4, 000 fans from all fifty states and eighteen foreign countries twice a year). The Legendary Rhythm and Blues Revue is currently touring the U.S., and based on the excitement generated by their incendiary live shows, Delta Groove has arranged to release a collection of live recordings spotlighting some of the highlights of their tour.

At the core of the Legendary Rhythm and Blues Revue is renowned guitar slinger and vocalist Tommy Castro and his band. A native of San Jose, CA, Castro has become a Bay Area legend over the last two decades, garnering countless awards for his infectiously rocking brand of blues, and earning a national spotlight leading the house band on NBC-TV's "Comedy Showcase" for three seasons. Castro has released a series of widely acclaimed CDs over the last decade, and was personally chosen as the opening act for two tours by the King of the Blues, B.B. King.

Blues and boogie-woogie pianist, sax player, vocalist, and songwriter Deanna Bogart has been leading her own band since the late 1980s, playing thousands of shows and establishing herself as an unforgettable live performer. Along the way she has shared the stage with widely diverse range of artists, including Ray Charles, Spyro Gyra, Buddy Guy, Leon Russell, Robert Cray, James Brown, They Might Be Giants, Little Feat, Brian Setzer and many others in venues across North America and Europe. Bogart has released seven CDs and appeared on numerous compilations, highlighting an impressive musical range that includes jazz, western swing, roots, rock and more, in addition to her deep blues roots.

Magic Dick is best known for his many years as the harmonica man in legendary blues/rock band The J. Geils Band, which he co-founded in 1968. As a member of that group, he toured the world extensively for over 15 years, headlining stadiums and festivals and releasing fourteen successful major label albums on Warner Bros. and EMI, culminating in the Platinum-certified album, "Freeze Frame", which spent 70 weeks on the national Billboard album charts, including four weeks at #1. Magic Dick also released two more powerful albums with his own group Blues Time which featured J. GeilsS on guitar. One of the most influential and highly respected harmonica players of his generation, Magic Dick has shared stages with many of the greatest names in blues music, as well as branching out into more adventurous territory with artists such as Patty Smyth, Debbi Harry, Full Circle, The Del Fuegos and others.

Guitarist and singer Ronnie Baker Brooks is the son of legendary bluesman Lonnie Brooks, and is living proof that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Ronnie has established himself as one of the most exciting and forward-thinking bluesmen of current generation, pleasing purists with his blues roots while bringing in younger listeners with his blistering guitar work and dynamic stage presence. He has released thre highly acclaimed records on his own label and was given the title "The Crown Prince of Chicago Blues" by Tom Marker of WXRT in Chicago.

Delta Groove C.E.O. Randy Chortkoff says, "Getting a line-up of this caliber together for a single show or a recording session is one thing, but having them out on the road together as a working band, and getting as tight and polished as they've become, brings things up to an entirely different level. And I've always felt that live shows catch a kind of interaction and excitement that you don't always get in a studio recording, so to be able to put out a CD of some of the very best of the best is a real treat...I'm very excited by what I've heard, and since they're still on tour and recording more shows that we may use, I believe this release is going to be a monster."
