| John Basile Releases "Time Will Reveal" John Basile and Underhill Jazz present a collection of pop/soul/jazz tunes from the 70's in an acoustic, latin--jazz setting entitled Time Will Reveal. “The 70's produced a huge catalog of music with great melodic and harmonic vehicles that have not been traditionally performed in an improvisational context”, states Basile. “We felt that there's a whole wealth of material that was worth exploring here - but in an acoustic jazz setting without the traditional electric bass and synth layering. These songs were many of the 'standards' I heard growing up and to revisit them now, in this context made perfect sense.” Produced by bassist David Finck, Time Will Reveal features some of the top NYC studio jazz musicians today including, Clint de Gannon, Roger Squitero, Joe Locke and Bill O'Connell. Selections include: “Betcha By Golly Wow”, “Groovin'”, “Up Up and Away”, and “For The Love of You”. Samples can be heard at the Underhill Jazz website and Time Will Reveal can be purchased at CD Baby. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Jazz News :: home page |
