| Blues & Jazz Jam! On Saturday, November 3nd the New York Blues & Jazz Society in collaboration with Westchester Art Council Presents: Live at the Arts Exchange: Blues & Jazz Jam! This is the opening event for the 2007/2008 season. Jammers are invited to join this “house” band of highly experienced musicians to perform anything in the blues or jazz vein. Vocalist & Jam Host Nikki Armstrong has performed and/or recorded with Melvin Sparks and Les Paul. She has opened for Little Feat, The Commitments, & Parliament Funkadelic. House Band: Guitarist Doug Munro worked with Dr. John, Michael Brecker, and Dr. Lonnie Smith. He has two Grammy nominations, and two NAIRD awards. Keyboardist Pete Levin has performed and/or recorded with: Paul Simon, Annie Lennox, Miles Davis, Gil Evans, Jimmy Giuffre, David Sanborn, Wayne Shorter, Jaco Pastorius, Robbie Robertson and John Scofield. Bassist Kip Sophos has worked with Nile Rogers, Chuck Loeb, Bob James, Bill Evans and Gil Parris. Drummer Harvey Sorgen has performed and /or recorded with Hot Tuna, Ahmad Jamal, Michelle Shocked, Paul Simon and NRBQ. He has been interviewed in Modern Drummer, Down Beat and other magazines.
