| 2007 New Music Awards Nominees Announced New Music Weekly magazine has announced the nominees for the 2007 New Music Awards. The event will be held November 10th, 2007 at the world famous Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California. This year's ceremony will honor radio stations, music and program directors, along with both major and independent record labels. Kim Kline joins Amy Winehouse and three other nominees for Top 40 Artist of the Year. Other nominees this year include Fergi, Daughtry and the Plain White Tees. From Los Angeles via the sleepy hamlet of Graham, Texas; born right in the heart of American country music, Kim quickly developed a rare and insatiable hunger for real rock n' roll. Rather than endeavoring to become the next country-bred, blonde pop tart, Kim learned to channel the grit and emotion of Janis Joplin with the meticulous pop song architecture of Stevie Nicks. Dispensing with the toothless pop-fluff one might expect from another young and beautiful songstress, Kim writes music with fangs and a snarl, unafraid to growl or crack her voice like a bullwhip when the spirit moves her. Radio stations across America, from Washington State all the way to Maui have been quick to embrace her debut single "Inside." The press is quick to agree. American Superstar Magazine raves that "this Texas native has the makings of the next rock superstar." Kim's self-titled debut album is currently available digitally at all major online retailers. Brick & mortar stores will be officially releasing the record first quarter of 2008. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Jazz News :: home page |
