Brazilian Jazz From Terri England

Jazz multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger, Terri England, recently released her 2007 debut solo album, Tones Of The Tropics, a captivating and uplifting Brazilian Jazz CD with an edge.

England's album includes ten original instrumental tunes that both energize and soothe, taking the listener on a stimulating sonic journey by way of a unique combination of cool Brazilian rhythms, jazz highlights and classical orchestral arrangements, all blended with a 'secret sauce' that's all her own.

Playing all instruments on the album, England conveys a refreshing economy of expression that allows her music to breathe while riding above rich harmonies and tight, syncopated rhythms she creates using a blend of guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, percussion and unexpected tempo changes on a few tunes. Her melodies flow above samba, bossa nova and batucada rhythms from Brazil.
Fans have described England's music as impressive, movin and groovin'".

CD reviews refer to TONES OF THE TROPiCS as a lesson in the intentional pacing that will always be an art form in the order of song choice within an album, and to England as a multi-instrumentalist with a knack for producing uncomplicated yet interesting and innovative soundscapes for the ears and mind.
