Rock N Roll Jesus from Kid Rock Debuts at Number One

There isn't much Kid Rock hasn't accomplished in his career as a superstar. Today the list has grown shorter, as his new album, Rock N Roll Jesus, debuts at #1 on the Billboard 200/SoundScan album chart. This marks the first time the American Baddass has landed at #1, having previously reached #2 with his collection The History of Rock. Says Kid Rock of the achievement, "I want to thank Punch Andrews for his guidance, friendship, and hard work throughout my career.

This couldn't have happened without him. And to my fans, for once again giving me a great excuse to throw a big party. I look forward to celebrating with them soon. And to everyone else, welcome to Haterville, population YOU."
It's no coincidence that the album Kid Rock calls his best to date is reacting so well with fans. The single "So Hott" is Kid Rock's highest charting Rock song ever - hitting #2 on the Mainstream Rock charts and #3 on the Active Rock chart. The video is in large rotation as well as in the Top 20 at VH1, with the album being featured on The Leak on MTV.com and VH1.com. Adding to the fire are the current cover of Rolling Stone and appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman and a full hour interview on CNN's Larry King Live.

Rock N Roll Jesus has been gathering glowing reviews as well, with Rolling Stone proclaiming in its 4-star rave, "This balls-to-the-wall album finds Kid Rock latching onto the verities of sex, drugs and rock & roll as a path to redemption -- both his and the country's... Throughout, Kid Rock extends the Seger-Mellencamp tradition of heartland rock -- its swagger as well as its vulnerability -- into a new era." Blender concurred: "From the AC/DC-guitar rips of 'So Hott, ' the first single, to the tongue-piercing snare of the title song, the album revels in the physicality of rock & roll."

Despite the media assault, Kid Rock is letting the music do the loudest talking, performing a series of sold-out, packed-to-the-walls club shows to showcase the new material. A full-blown Kid Rock arena tour is expected to be announced soon.
