| Jean Shy Celebrates The Other Side of Blue The Catalina Jazz Club and L.A. Gospel Jubilee proudly present the performance of Singer, Songwriter, Music Producer and Actress Jean Shy on Wednesday, October 17.07 at the Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood. Jean Shy and her Band will perform a melodic cocktail of Jazz, Blues with a touch of Soul. Included in the Repertoire are Songs from Jean Shy's newest US CD release The Other Side of Blue which consists of compositions written and composed by Shy and some Cover Songs that have been very carefully selected and rarely covered, if at all. Born in Chicago, Jean Shy's vocal Background had it's beginning in Gospel Music. Her musical influences were very versatile ranging from Mahalia Jackson to Elvis Presley; Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington to Aretha Franklin and Gladys Knight. After regional and national successes in the US Jean Shy branched out and went to Europe, making Germany her second home. There she formed her own Band THE SHY GUYS with which she has been performing to thousands of Fans at major Festivals, Concert Halls and Churches throughout Europe for more than twenty Years. In 2004 JEAN SHY returned to the USA after living in Europe for more than 14 Years. She is currently promoting her 03.
