Brazilian Jazz With Terri England

Multi-instrumentalist, composer and arranger, Terri England, recently released her debut solo album, Tones Of The Tropics, a captivating and uplifting Brazilian Jazz CD with an edge. England's album includes ten original instrumental tunes that both energize and soothe, taking the listener on a stimulating sonic journey by way of a unique combination of cool Brazilian and Latin rhythms, jazz highlights and classical orchestral arrangements, all blended with a 'secret sauce' that's all her own.

Playing all instruments on the album, England conveys a refreshing economy of expression that allows her music to 'breathe' while riding above rich harmonies and tight, syncopated rhythms she creates using a blend of guitar, bass, keys, drums, percussion and unexpected tempo changes on a few tunes. England's melodies flow above samba, bossa nova and batucada rhythms from Brazil and booty-shakin Latin beats. Fans have described England's music as impressive, movin' and groovin', and 'sassy'.

CD reviews refer to TONES OF THE TROPiCS as a lesson in the intentional pacing that will always be an art form in the order of song choice within an album, and to England as a multi-instrumentalist with a knack for producing uncomplicated yet interesting and innovative soundscapes for the ears and mind.
