Historic recordings include Perry Robinson, Funk Dumpling (Savoy Records), Archie Shepp, Live in San Francisco (Impulse Records), and Henry Grimes, The Call (ESP Records). He has played and recorded with Julian Priester, John Gross, Bert Wilson, Perry Robinson, Michael Vlatkovich, Michael Bisio, and Jim Baker. A former student of late Coltrane drummer Elvin Jones, Bennington served as drumtech and bandmanager for Jones from 2000-2002.
