2nd Annual Liberty Jazz Festival

The two-day Liberty Jazz Festival presented by RBC Dain Rauscher features a world-class lineup September 8-9, 2007 at Liberty State Park's Green Ring in Jersey City with the Manhattan skyline, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island as backdrops. Grammy winners George Benson, Branford Marsalis, Chuck Mangione, and Christian McBride head a list of a dozen performers scheduled for this year's concert.

“As thousands of jazz and music fans witnessed last year, the Green Ring in Liberty State Park is an unbelievable setting for an outdoor concert,” said Howard Freeman of Promo 1, who is producing the Festival along with Kent Coules of Everything Jersey Events. “We're equally proud of the amazing lineup of performers we have lined up again this year. It's a great two days and a truly unique concert experience you don't want to miss.”

“Our goal is to produce more than just a concert, we want the Liberty Jazz Festival to become a destination jazz festival to attend every year,” said Coules. “Liberty State Park is a star attraction in its own right especially with our performers playing in front of the Statue of Liberty. Our partnership with CD101.9 allows us to offer smooth jazz aficionados the best jazz artists in the world.”

As 2006 proved, it's not just the views that will attract concert-goers. The 2nd annual Liberty Jazz Festival's world-class list of performers is as impressive as the world-renowned landmarks behind it.

Benson, Mangione, McBride, saxophonist Euge Groove and the Guitars & Saxes Tour featuring Gerald Albright, Kirk Whalum, Tim Bowman and Jeff Golub are scheduled to perform on Saturday, Sept. 8 between 12:00 noon-10:00 p.m.

Marsalis, Clint Eastwood's son Kyle Eastwood, guitarist Gil Parris and award-winning saxophonist Joshua Redman are among the artists scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 9 between 12:00 noon and 8:00 p.m.
