Ryan Shaw At NYC's Radio City Music Hall

Rising soul star Ryan Shaw has been added to the lineup of the once-in-a-lifetime "Dream Concert" in New York City this fall. Shaw will join legends like Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, and Carlos Santana at Radio City Music Hall on September 18th for the benefit show, which will raise funds for the construction of a Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial on the National Mall.

In addition to this prestigious honor, Shaw has also been added to the lineups of this year's Bumbershoot and Austin City Limits festivals. Combine that with sets at Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo and stints opening for Joss Stone, Los Lonely Boys, and John Legend, and Shaw's electrifying live performances will have been witnessed by nearly 500, 000 music fans by year's end. Not bad for a singer whose debut album, "This is Ryan Shaw' (Razor & Tie Entertainment/Red), was just released in April.

As his debut clearly demonstrates, Ryan Shaw is no ordinary artist. With a stunning voice that instantly brings to mind artists like Wilson Pickett, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, and Van Hunt, Shaw's "tru-skool" sound is less a revival than a revitalization of the entire genre. Songs like "Nobody", "We Got Love" and "Do The 45" are rapidly moving the young singer to the forefront of modern soul with a voice that The Washington Post calls "full of fire and conviction, exploding with energy and emotion."
