| Travis Tritt Celebrates 25 Years In Music Travis Tritt is known as one of the finest and most distinctive singers and songwriters in American music as well as a vibrant and engaging entertainer. He is also a virtuosic and commanding guitar player who now boasts his own HDC-40 Limited Signature Edition Martin Guitar that was introduced at the Summer NAMM (National Association of Music Merchandisers) show in Austin, TX to salute Tritt's landmark 25 years of making music. Travis Tritt's quarter century in music has yielded him three GRAMMY Awards, two CMA Awards and 25 million records sold. He has just scored his 40th Top 40 hit song with the recent chart rise of his latest single, the funk-inflected, rollicking "You Never Take Me Dancing", which is accompanied by a video ? in which American Idol judge Randy Jackson, co-producer of the single and Tritt's upcoming album, makes a cameo appearance ? that is enjoying steady CMT and GAC airplay. It precedes the August 21 release of The Storm, a definitive, tour de force album that opens the next 25 years of Tritt's superstar career. Tritt joined Martin at the company's NAMM booth for the debut of the guitar: a dreadnaught acoustic based on features found on the custom D-45 Martin guitar that the company made for him in 1995 when Tritt was on the "Double Trouble" tour with his musical compadre Marty Stuart. The Travis Tritt Signature HDC-40 guitar is built with an Adirondack (red) spruce top and sports back and sides made of rare Madagascar rosewood. It features a cutaway body, a center ring of pearl herringbone and a polished and beveled black pickguard with a floral inlay in abalone pearl. Its genuine ebony fingerboard features a colorful Martin "Vine of Harmonics" inlay in abalone pearl, mother of pearl, and composite, culminating in Tritt's signature in mother of pearl between the 18th and 19th frets. It comes stage and studio ready with factory-installed Martin Gold Plus Natural 1 active electronics. Every HDC-40 Travis Tritt Limited Signature Edition Martin Guitar comes personally hand-signed by Tritt on the interior label and is numbered in sequence with the edition total. Authorized Martin Guitar dealers will be accepting orders for the guitar until the cutoff date of September 24, 2007, after which the edition quantity will be set, making the instrument a true collector's item. "I'm so thrilled with my new Martin signature model", says Tritt. "Thanks to everyone at Martin for making this exquisite guitar happen!" write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Jazz News :: home page |
