| 2007 World Premiere of the " Buffalo Collision" ”Buffalo Collision” explores the non-standard use of the jazz composition. This work was composed using the medium of Photonality, which basically is a visual music composition. The camera acts as an additional instrument within the performance. This visual music composition was from the April 2007 performance of Buffalo Collision at the University of Pennsylvania Rose Hall. Etahn Iverson and David King are both from “The Bad Plus” and were joined by legendary Tim Berne and Matt Maneri to form this exciting group. The visual compositions title “Buffalo Collision” comes from the groups name. As Ethan noted in a past interview about the name ...the joining of the music of Tim and Matt with the two members of The Bad Plus is like a Buffalo Collision. Shooting this visual composition for me was like standing in the middle of a hurricane. This composition is located in the Photonality album of T.E. Priemon's Gallery. write your comments about the article :: © 2007 Jazz News :: home page |
