| Little Apple Jazz Festival Just a quick reminder about the Little Apple Jazz Festival this Saturday, July 14, at City Park (1101 Fremont) in Manhattan, KS! It's free and open to the public. There will be eight local and national jazz artists. Please check out the web site to view the band line-up and details. There will be food vendors and CDs/t-shirts for sale. It's bound to be a great evening of jazz. Come join us! Sponsored by the K-State Student Union Program Council and Parks & Recreation as part of their Arts in the Park series. The K-State Student Union and a coalition of partners, including Ag Press, Dow Multicultural Resource Center, and Bowman Bowman Novick, Inc., and Manhattan Convention and Visitors Bureau, started working on a way to showcase jazz in Manhattan, Kansas. In the past 7 years the K-State Student Union Program Council has sponsored a jazz festival, for K-State students, faculty, and staff. What the attendees had in common was their love for jazz. For the third year UPCs Jazz Advisory Committee is pairing up with Manhattan Parks & Recreations Arts in the Park in order to produce a jazz festival. Arts in the Park, a summer concert series sponsored by Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department, is a popular series in its 31st year, which entertained 20,000 music lovers in 2005. Arts in the Park prides itself on providing quality entertainment, fit for the entire family. This year is no exception. Last year the jazz festival attracted 2200 people.
