Diet Coke Women In Jazz Festival

Diet Coke and Jazz at Lincoln Center announced the 3rd annual Diet Coke Women in Jazz Festival at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, a celebration of the great contributions women performers have made to jazz music. In association with NYC & Company, New York City's tourism marketing organization, the festival will feature nightly performances by some of the most influential women in jazz today as well as up-and-coming jazz artists beginning September 3 through October 1, 2007. Held at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola located in the home of Jazz at Lincoln Center, Frederick P. Rose Hall.

Coca-Cola is committed to the encouragement and development of female jazz artists of the future. "New York City is the jazz capital of the world, and Diet Coke is delighted to help bring this extraordinary festival to the Big Apple and support creative music and the arts", said Chuck Fruit, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of The Coca-Cola Company.

Festival headliner Sherrie Maricle, drummer and leader of the all-female DIVA Jazz Orchestra says, "To perform at the inaugural Diet Coke Women In Jazz Festival in 2005 was a thrill, to be invited back is a genuine honor!" Ms. Maricle continues, "Having performed at many of the world's most prestigious music festivals and concert halls with the DIVA Jazz Orchestra, it is with the utmost passion, admiration and respect that I recognize the inspired excellence and commitment of Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola to acknowledge distinguished jazz artists with this outstanding festival.

Headliners Include: Cindy Blackman, Fleurine with Chico Pinheiro, Brad Mehldau and Gilad; Sherrie Maricle & The DIVA Jazz Orchestra with Nnenna Freelon, Dee Daniels and Carmen Bradford; Rachel Z, Claire Martin and Ian Shaw, Carol Sloane and Friends, Rondi Charleston, Renee Rosnes All-Star Quintet and Gretchen Parlato Quartet
