Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola August 2007 LineUp

Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola brings in the hottest talent in jazz as August sizzles at Frederick P. Rose Hall, home to Jazz at Lincoln Center. The Cedar Walton Quartet kicks it off followed by the Cedar Walton Quintet for a special two-week engagement highlighting the legendary pianist through August 12. Then, The Music of Antonio Carlos Jobim & Stan Getz: Trio da Paz, Joe Locke, Maucha Adnet & Harry Allen from August 14-26 (excluding Monday UPSTARTS! on August 20). Rounding out the month, its One For All: Eric Alexander, Steve Davis, Jim Rotondi, David Hazeltine, John Webber & Joe Farnsworth, celebrating 15-years together as a coop, all-star, mutually owned co-leader band.

Special Monday Presentations include Stephanie Nakasian & Hod O'Brien Trio featuring Special Guest 13-year-old vocalist Veronica Swift on August 6. August 13 brings in Chembo Corniel Latin Jazz Quintet featuring Ivan Renta, Enrique Haneine, Carlo DeRosa, Vince Cherico with Special Guests John DiMartino and Grady Tate for a CD release party.

The UPSTARTS! Mondays program provides performances opportunities for jazz bands from area colleges including The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, New School and Queens College, as well as artists deserving of wider recognition, plus special presentations. UPSTARTS! Mondays showcases Sophie Milman on August 20 and the Juilliard Jazz Ensemble with Special Guest on August 27.
