Rip Crystal with John Chiodini at Gardenia Supper Club

Vocalist Rip Crystal will performing with jazz guitarist John Chiodini at the Gardenia Supper Club in Hollywood, Ca on Monday nights - June 11th, 18th and 25th. Crystal's favorite music has always been the West Coast jazz of the late fifties and early sixties featuring artists like Gerry Mulligan, Stan Getz, Bob Brookmeyer and Clifford Brown.

A few months ago Rip heard John Chiodini play the guitar and John heard Rip sing. They knew at that moment they had to make music together. Their versatile styles blend into one rich sound and explore a wide gamut of genres--from swing to bebop to blues to Latin to pop.

Rip Crystal's father produced jazz concerts and managed the legendary Commodore Music Shop in Manhattan. His uncle, Milt Gabler, created the Commodore Jazz label and went on to head Decca Records for thirty years.

John Chiodini toured, wrote and recorded with Peggy Lee. He has also toured and recorded with Natalie Cole, Maynard Ferguson, Shirley Horn, Hubert Laws, Nina Simone and Johnny Mandel.
